This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing service and delicious food. Could not have asked for more on our first ever trip to Ocracoke Island! We had grouper bites (the crisp on which was mind-blowingly perfect), shrimp and grits (best of my life thus far), and a special which featured crab imperial over red drum. Highly, highly recommend! I’m lucky to have even gotten that picture of the grouper bites- please note the hungry husband hand in the photo waiting impatiently for another bite they were that good.

Enjoyed lunch at Daijo on a very rainy Wednesday following Memorial Day. Christian, our server, was friendly and helpful. Selected the chicken pesto sandwich with avocado, a delicious entree served with crisp, hot french fries. So many other good choices to consider, but we had a ferry to catch. Next time, we hope to linger with an eye on the soup of the day and a delectable dessert.

This place was so good we went twice!! But dinner is where it's AT!!!!!! We went during lunch one day and had the crab cake burger which was just okay. The consistency was more of tuna fish to me. That was a little pan seared. But we had Matt as our waiter and he was hilarious Omgosh, he had us ROLLIN!!!!!!! So we went back for dinner on a different day and had some of the best food on the island!! Had the following: fried green tomatoes with bacon jam (AMAZING - GET THESE), crab empanadas with a green chutney (REALLY GOOD FLAVOR), Seared scallops in a corn like soup (scallops were so fresh and tender), blackened shrimp, cheesy grits (these are stone grits), collard/carrots mixture and key lime pie. The pie was a bit soft as if it had not jellied well enough together, but it was very tasty. Lime flavor was through and through and crust was house made. Atmosphere: I absolutely loved the music choice!!! It was a combination of house/chillhop. My vibe ALLLLL day. We sat inside, real candle lit on the table, white linens. BEST FOOD ON THE ISLAND!!!!!! But you'll drop about 100 for 2 with desserts, entrees and apps. But worth every penny!!! #BeeStampApproved

Dajio is superb! We are so happy that we decided to go here. The atmosphere is super warm and inviting and the food is delicious. Not cheap, but flavorful, high-quality and generous portion sizes. The scallops, cauliflower steak and blackened shrimp were out of this world! The owner and staff were very nice as well. Thank you for a great night! :)
